Heardle Decades uses the Wordle song-guessing version to create customized music guessing games based on songs from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. It feeds into the streaming service but is not an official Heardle offshoot.
Heardle Decades selects a random song from a list in the same way as the original. However, unlike Heardle, each Heardle Decades game selects a song from an ever-expanding list of great songs, from the 1960s through the 1990s. A unique game for 1980s No. 1s is also available, it is based on the list of British and American chart-toppers from that era.
Similar to Heardle, coming to the Heardle Decades, you are given a brief excerpt of the song's opening and six suggestions for its title, with each suggestion giving you a few more seconds to identify the song.
